This book carefully describes what you need to know to write SQL statements in either Oracle and Access. I have been very happy with the detailed descriptions for the individual exercises. I would recommend it highly!
Title: Transact-SQL
Publisher: Wiley

Rating: 3/5
Good as an introduction. However, for programming reference, it is not as good as Nutshell Series' Tansact-SQL Programming.
Title: Transact-SQL Programming
Publisher: O'Reilly
Authors: Lee Gould, Andrew Zanevsky, Kevin Kline
Rating: 2/5
Despite the cover, this is not a 7.0 book. I believe it was written for 4.2 or 6.5 because many of the source listings use techniques that have been deprecated for years, even by Microsoft (e.g., old-style joins). This thing really needs an update. I found no less than 10 examples that wouldn't work on 7.0.
Title: MySQL/PHP Database Applications
Publisher: Wiley
Authors: Jay Greenspan, Brad Bulger
Rating: 4/5
I would like to state that this book is quite good.
I've used it quite extensively. It was exactly what I needed.I've read some of the other reviews.
No, if you never programmed before, then this may not be the
book for you. Though, if you understand the basics of
programming. You should be able to understand it.
If you're already an expert at MYSQL & PHP - This is not the
book for you either. (And, why would you buy it then?)This is simply a good book to learn MYSQL & PHP in web applications. This Book was written fairly well. Easy to understand. He
also points out the problems that may arise up when developing
web pages. I recommend this book to anybody who:
Knows programming fundamentals, and wants to develop applications in PHP & MYSQL.I give it 4 stars. Because I think there's room for a little improvement.

Title: The Sql Guide to Oracle
Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional

It is bit of old book but it is best for bingers who need jump start for SQL programming and do not care about new oracle features. It starts from very basics but then it takes you to pretty high level.
Title: Php Fast & Easy Web Development (Fast & Easy Web Development)
Publisher: Premier Press
Authors: Julie C. Meloni
Rating: 5/5
I tried reading the manual on php.net, after all it is free and it would save me the cost of the book. However, I found it difficult to use the manual and I wanted a starting point that started me from the absolute beginning. This book does just that. Guiding you through the tasks of PHP and mySQL installation, it allows for an easy learning experience. If your brand new, this book is a must have!
